Hello and welcome to our world.
We are a “normal” family. What a start lol. We are far from normal.
Our Family
12 years ago, our lives changed. We became parents to 2 children – yep a BOGOFF lol – not bad for someone that had been told that she couldn’t have kids. Can you imagine…….we went from a family of 2 to a family of 4 overnight! We also had 2 horses at this point.
We now also have 2 dogs, 1 bearded dragon, 3 rats and 4 chickens! Unfortunately we do not currently have any horses but I’m working on it…..
Autism
Since the age of 2, we knew that our son was different. No one would listen. Finally in May 2017, we got the official diagnosis of ASD. Relief was enormous. However, there started different challenges as the pieces didn’t quite fit.
We now know why. Our son has ASD with PDA traits. Our beautiful daughter is not only having to deal with her own issues but she is having to learn how to deal with her brother – not easy for a 12 year old.
Every day is a learning curve. I’ve embraced it and thrown myself into various ways of coping and helping us all to make our lives better. This blog is my way of sharing our highs and lows with you and I hope that you find it helpful.
